SUMMARY OF DISTRICT’S SALARY AND BENEFITS PROPOSAL

 MDEA 2013-14 Contract Year – 2014 Calendar Benefit Year

First Year of District’s Offer:

·          +3% Increase on Salary Schedule                 Average Salary:  Class 2 / Step 4   $49,606 + 3% =  $51,094

·          +2% One-Time Increase

A)     1.4% Percent One-Time Payment             $51,094 * 1.4% = $715

Total Salary Plus off Schedule Payment = $51,809.

B)      .6% Percent to Fund Approximately 811 MDEA Members Currently Enrolled in a District Medical Plan up to the 2010 Kaiser One-Party Plan

Second Year of District’s Offer:

·         3% Salary Increase from 2013/14 Continues on Schedule

·         MDEA members not enrolled though the District’s medical benefit program (approximately 710) can enroll (during the open-enrollment period) with coverage capped at the 2010 Kaiser one-party rate.  Coverage would begin 1/1/2015 and the following rates would apply for the calendar year 2015.

* These numbers are subject to change with the posting of the 1st Interim Adjustments and upon the release of the Governor’s 2014-15 Budget.

The above amounts are in addition to the $6,006 in lieu of benefits currently on the salary schedule that will increase to $6,186 retroactive to 7/1/2013 under this proposal.
