PUBLIC NOTICE OF THE MT. DIABLO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT'S INTENTION TO
SEEK A WAIVER OF PORTION OF QUALITY EDUCATION INVESTMENT ACT
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District ("District") hereby notifies the public that on January 9, 2012 at its regularly scheduled and duly noticed public board meeting, action will be taken on staff's recommendation to seek a waiver from the State Board of Education of Rule of 27 of the Quality Education Investment Act ("QEIA"). The waiver is necessary because one of the District school's that is a QEIA recipient slightly exceeded the maximum class size rule. If the waiver is successful, it will allow Mt. Diablo High School to retain in excess of $1.5 million in funding for the 2012-13 school years. The District has consulted the Mt. Diablo Education Association and the union supports the efforts to seek a waiver. Interested parties should attend the Mt. Diablo Unified School Board Meeting which will take place at 1936 Carlotta Drive, Concord, CA at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2012.
