PERTUSSIS BOOSTER NOW REQUIRED FOR 7TH - 12TH GRADE.
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District would like to notify you of a new immunization requirement for students entering the 7th through 12th grade in the 2011-2012 school year. Students entering these grade levels are now required to receive a booster shot against pertussis (also known as Tdap). Assembly Bill 354, now chaptered into California law, requires
students to be immunized against pertussis.
Pertussis is widespread. If your child is 7 years old or older and has not received the 'Tdap' pertussis booster shot, please contact your doctor or health department. Getting a booster show now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet a new school requirement.For the 2011-2012 school year only

- Begins July 1, 2011
- Can be met by receiving one dose of Tdap vaccine on or after the 7th birthday.
