Horizons Center for Independent Study is part of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. It is a fully WASC-accredited high school, fully accredited teachers. It has a UC/CSU approved college preparatory program. The standards in Independent Study meet all the requirements for graduation from the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
Horizons Center for Independent Study is a program for students who want to do high school on their own. The heart of Independent Study is the student learning at home, teaching him/herself independent of teacher or school.
How it works
Students meet with their teacher once a week for 1 to 3 hours to discuss their progress. Each week they hand in the previous week's assignments, complete projects, and get the assignments for the following week.

You can be concurrently enrolled in other programs: you can take up to 2 classes in a community college or even at your home school
