Independent Study is unique: Is it for you?
- Do you wish to learn to be independent or are you independent already?
- Do you tend to get things done on your own?
- Do you have a good grasp of how to do schoolwork?
- Are you resourceful, able to find answers to questions and to solve problems on your own?
- Are you self-disciplined?
- Are you self-motivated?
- Can you manage your time well?
- Do you take responsibility for yourself, what you learn, what you achieve?
If you answered “yes” to the majority of these questions, then our program may be for you!
What are the minimum requirements?
- You must do a full week’s work each week, which is 25-30 hours on average.
- You must attend your weekly appointment at the Horizons CIS campus in Pleasant Hill.
- When you come, you must correct your homework and take tests, in addition to meeting with your teacher. On your appointment day, you will be at school for at least an hour, possibly three.
