Our series continues Wednesday, February 1, with “What’s Going on With Math: Supporting Your Student With Common Core Mathematics” presented by Dr. Daniel Meyer, a former teacher who taught high school math to students who didn’t like high school math, and current Chief Academic Officer of Desmos, a company which provides free digital graphing calculators and mathematics tools and activities to teachers and schools.

Dr. Meyer was named one of Tech & Learning’s 30 leaders of the future, and is an Apple Distinguished Educator who has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, and TedTalks as an education reform advocate. He has spent many years working with publishers to move from print-based instruction to its digital future.

The event will be held at Northgate High School, 425 Castle Rock Rd., Walnut Creek., beginning at 6 p.m. All MDUSD families and staff are welcome.  Translation services will be provided.  For more information call (925) 682-8000, ext. 4016.
