Mandatory Online Trainings 2018-2019

This year all MDUSD employees must complete all annually required trainings online at http://www.targetsolutions.com/mdusd

New Employees hired after August 1, 2018  will have 60 days from clearance to complete the training - Please Click Here for Additional Directions.

 

Staff who are members of CSEA, CST, DMA, MDEA, MDSPA, Supervisory Unit and Teamsters, or are Noon Supervisors must complete the required trainings by September 30, 2018.

Who Must Complete Online Trainings?

All employees who are members of CSEA, CST, DMA, MDEA, MDSPA, Supervisory Unit and Teamsters must complete the online trainings.  All Noon Supervisors, Classified Coaches, and Adult Education Unrepresented Employees must also complete the online trainings. 

Is There a Deadline?

Yes!  All employees must complete the mandatory online trainings between July 1 and September 30, 2018. 

What Trainings Do I Need to Complete?

CSEA, CST, DMA Confidential, MDEA, MDSPA, Teamsters, Noon Supervisors, and Supervisory Unit

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Safety
  • Child Abuse: Mandated Reporter Training

All DMA Managers

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Safety
  • Child Abuse: Mandated Reporter Training
  • Sexual Harassment for Supervisors (California AB 1825)

How Long Will It Take?

Times below are estimates, except for Sexual Harassment for Supervisors.  Ed Code requires 2 hours for that training.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Safety  (30 minutes)
  • Child Abuse: Mandated Reporter Training (30 minutes)
  • Sexual Harassment for Supervisors (California AB 1825) (DMA Managers ONLY) (2 hours)

I Did the Trainings Last Year. Why Do I Have to Do Them Again?

Ed Code requires each of these trainings every school year.

 

How and When Can I Complete the Trainings?

  • All Employees who work 12 months and DMA members may complete the trainings during their regular work day or outside of the work day. There is NO compensation for completing outside of your work day.
  • MDEA and MDSPA members are to complete the training within their regular work hours. There is NO compensation for completing outside of your work day.
  • CSEA members who complete the training outside of their regular work day will be paid for 2 hours of work and must send in a timesheet to Personnel. 
  • CST members who work less than 12 months who complete the training outside of their regular work day will be paid for 2 hours of work and must send in a timesheet to Personnel.
  • M&O Teamsters are invited to complete the training on July 13, 2018 at Mt. Diablo High School. If unable to attend members are to complete the training within their regular work hours prior to September 30, 2018. There is NO compensation for completing outside of your work day.
  • Food Service Employees (Teamsters and Supervisory Unit) are invited to complete the training on August 10, 2018 from 9-11am at Loma Vista. Those who attend and complete the training will be paid 2 hours of work. If unable to attend they may complete the training outside of their regular work hours and will be paid for 2 hours of work and must send a timesheet to Personnel.
  • Transportation Employees (Teamsters members) are invited to complete the training during their department fall orientation. Those who attend and complete the training will be paid 2 hours of work. If unable to attend they may complete the training outside of their regular work hours and will be paid for 2 hours of work and must send a timesheet to Personnel.
  • Adult Ed Unrepresented, Noon Supervisors, & Classified Coaches who complete the training outside of their regular work day will be paid for 2 hours of work and must send in a timesheet to Personnel. 

Mandatory Training Options

Employees may use a computer at home, at the library, and a variety of other locations.

Do I Need to Do Anything to Get Ready?

Make sure you know your MDUSD email address.  All MDUSD employees have a MDUSD email account.  Per the TIS Help Desk staff, if you don’t know your MDUSD email address, contact your site’s office manager or your supervisor.  They should be able to assist you.

If you activated your district TargetSolutions account last school year, it will still be active and ready to go.

If you did not do the online training last year, you will need to do so before you can begin training.  To do so, go to:

Follow the onscreen directions to verify your email address.  The verification email from TargetSolutions must be responded to within 48 hours.  If you don’t see the email in your district email account within 15 minutes, check your junk mail.

DEADLINE

Trainings must be completed between July 1 and September 30, 2018.          

I Don’t Own a Computer.  What Can I Do?

Employees who work at a site with computers may make arrangements with their supervisors to use one of those computers.

Employees who don’t have access to a computer at work may go to the following locations.

Willow Creek Computer Lab:

July 18, 26, & August 3, 13, 14

8:00 a.m. – Noon, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Riverview Middle School Computer Lab, Room 307

August 1

8:00 – 11:30 a.m., 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

NOTE!

  • These are drop in sites. 
  • Due to limited seating at each site, employees may have to wait a bit for a computer. 
  • First come, first serve!
  • Make sure you show up far enough before closing time to complete the trainings.
  • Estimated total time is 2 hours.

IMPORTANT: CSEA, CST (11 months or less), Teamsters (Food Service & Transportation), Adult Ed, Noon Sups, & Classified Coaches

  • For those who may receive additional compensation both Mandatory Trainings must be completed prior to September 30, 2018 outside of work hours in order to receive compensation. No partial payments will be made.
  • Timesheets for Mandatory Training should be submitted to Personnel no later than October 20, 2018 for prompt payment.
  • Active Employees as of August 1, 2018 are expected to complete the training prior to September 30, 2018. If training is incomplete or completed after that date no compensation will be processed.
  • Timesheets are available via office managers or on the payroll website.
