A Voluntary Transfer is defined as a movement within the same classification from one site to another or from one department to another. With some bargaining units, a transfer can include movement from one classification to another classification which is at the same or lower salary level, and requires passage of the same written test, and the same skills are required at an equal or lesser degree.
A Promotion is defined as movement from a lower classification to a higher classification within the bargaining unit. Unit members are given first consideration in filling any vacancy within the bargaining unit which shall be considered a promotion. Scroll below to see the promotional opportunities available.
