The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) is to serve as an advising entity to the Student Board Member, and by proxy, the Superintendent and the non-student governing board members. In an effort to accurately represent the diverse needs and concerns of the MDUSD student population, the Student Board Member shall convene this group with an agenda and detailed action items to then report to the board at the following governing board meeting.
The Student Advisory Committee is dedicated to creating a diverse and representative and inclusive environment. We work to provide a safe space where students can speak up and advocate for themselves and their community in the aspect of education. Applications for the Student Advisory Committee will be available after the start of the 2023-24 school year. Please check back for updates.
The Student Board Member is selected annually by applications from interested incoming juniors and seniors at MDUSD schools. The 2025-26 Student Board Member is Alan Barrera Orellana, barreraorellanaa@mdusd.org.
