SSL Certificates

This page has SSL certificate installation instructions for various devices and operating systems below. This certificate is used to detect and block malicious traffic and threats. Please choose the section appropriate for your device.

Most School/District devices should already have this certificate installed, but if you have decided to use your personal device on the MDUSD network, it will require this certificate to be installed.

This certificate must be installed in your device’s “trusted root certification authorities” store/folder to access HTTPS websites on the MDUSD network.

You must have this page open in Safari in order for this to work.

Download this file , tap Allow, choose iPhone and you should see a prompt that states "Profile Downloaded. Review the profile in the Settings app if ou want to install it.
Open the Settings app on your phone. You may see a new option called Profile Downloaded. If you don't, then navigate to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, tap MDUSD SSL, tap Install, type in your passcode, tap Install in the top right corner, tap Install at the bottom of the screen, then tap Done.
Now you need to trust the certificate. Navigate to Settings > General > About > (scroll down) Certificate Trust Settings. Under "Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates" tap the slider so it shows green.

Download this file and follow the prompts to install the certificate. Be sure to select the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” as its install location/folder.
Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of chrome, then click on settings in the drop down. In settings, on the left, click on “Privacy and Security” then click on “Security” in the center of the page. Scroll down all the way and click on “Manage Device Certificates” then “Authorities” then “import” then find where the SSL certificate downloaded and click on it.
After the SSL certificate is imported, open wifi settings in the bottom right and choose “MDUSD.” In the window that popped up, set “Security” to “PEAP”, set “EAP Phase 2…” to “MSCHAPv2” , and set “Server CA Certificate” to “Do not check”. For “identity” and “password” type in your district email address and password, respectively, then click “Connect”
