Acoustical Ceiling Panel and Shade Coverings Project (2025)

Overview: As part of the Acoustical Ceiling Panel and Window Shades Project, MDUSD will be bringing additional acoustical enhancements to the newly modernized classrooms. Classrooms that were constructed with new ceilings, not constructed with the acoustical Danoline tiling (no longer manufactured) will be receiving acoustical ceiling tiles to absorb sound and prevent the vibrations of the lively classrooms to enhance the student's learning environment.

Also, as part of the project, new operable window shade coverings will be installed on all windows, whether they were replaced as part of the modernization or not. These window shades will allow for multiple layers of shade at each window opening. Should monitors be desired to be used or privacy needed for testing, a blackout option will be available. If the teacher is looking for some natural sunlight, but to not have the sun in students' eyes, a more transparent option is also available allowing the teacher multiple options at each individual window, depending on the time of day and learning environment the teacher is setting up.

Scope: Classrooms that were constructed with new ceilings without the acoustical Danoline tiling will receive acoustical ceiling tiles. All windows across the campus will receive new window shades.
