FIT Inspections

Every year, each site in the school district undergoes an inspection from a third party. The primary goal is to identify any health or safety hazards in the school environment. This includes addressing issues like unsafe playground equipment, poor air quality, electrical problems, and any other hazards that could pose risks to students and staff.

Facilities Inspection Tool (FIT)

  • A standardized method for evaluating the physical condition and safety of school facilities.
  • It ensures that schools meet minimum facility standards set by state and local education agencies to maintain a safe, clean, and functional learning environment.
  • FIT inspections focus on several critical areas to assess whether school buildings are properly maintained and able to support the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff.
  • Focus areas: cleanliness, safety, structural integrity, systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), and overall maintenance

The Maintenance, Operations & Facilities department uses this information to resolve safety issues as a priority.
