Assessments provide data and information for not only measuring student progress and performance, but also for evaluating our educational services and determining strategies for improvement. See below for information on the assessments at MDUSD.
Assessment Calendars
Elementary Assessment Calendar
State Assessments - Summative assessments designed to measure end-of-year student proficiency and overall student learning. The assessments are administered annually and can give a general sense of how students and schools are doing at year’s end.
California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System
English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) System
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)
District Assessments - Common district assessments designed to monitor student progress and support instruction and learning. The assessments are administered multiple times throughout the school year and provide ongoing formative feedback for students and schools.

CSU/UC Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project (MDTP) Assessment
Report Cards - Student Report Cards are designed to provide detailed information on student progress toward mastery of grade level standards. Teachers complete report cards at the end of each quarter/trimester/semester.
Secondary Report Cards (Link TBA)
Standardized High School Testing - Achievement tests designed for students to demonstrate academic proficiency and skills to supplement their academic profile. Many of these tests can aid in the admission process for college, post-secondary, higher education, and career programs.

International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) Exam
High School Equivalency Tests - Equivalency/Proficiency tests designed to verify high school level skills and provide opportunities to obtain certificates equivalent to a California high school diploma.
