CTE programs offer students with opportunities to take classes that give them high-quality work based learning experiences while preparing them for college. MDUSD offers CTE programs in elementary, middle and high schools. Students can explore different career fields, while experiencing hands-on learning and learning new skills that will help prepare them for college and career. Students enrolled in academies or career pathways have opportunities to participate in internships, providing them with more intensive experience in a particular career field.
Career Pathways
Career Pathways are programs that offer career development opportunities to students. Through the CTE classes, students in career pathways are exposed to possible careers within the industry sector, while learning industry related career skills. Additionally, students learn transferrable skills in career readiness. Even if a student chooses a different career, they will have valuable skills that will ensure they are career ready. Career pathways also offer students the opportunity to participate in mentorships, job shadows and internships.
