College & Career Advisors in Mt. Diablo Unified
College and Career Advisors (CCAs) in Mt. Diablo Unified School District play a vital role in preparing students for life after high school. They guide students in exploring college options, career pathways, and training opportunities, while also connecting families with resources that support success beyond graduation.
As part of this work, CCAs are leading the district’s implementation of the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI). Through the use of CaliforniaColleges.edu, students can explore careers, plan coursework, apply to colleges, and complete financial aid applications—all in one secure platform that connects directly to their school records. This ensures every student has a clear, personalized plan for their future.
What College & Career Advisors Do:
-
Lead the implementation of CCGI - California College Guidance Initiative and train students, families, and staff on its use.
-
Guide students through the college application and financial aid process (FAFSA, CADAA, scholarships).
-
Support career exploration and work-based learning, including internships and resume development.
-
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and community partners to align with the MDUSD college and career goals.
