Open Enrollment

MDUSD Open Enrollment September 15, 2025-October 10, 2025

MDUSD is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, with high-quality medical, dental, and vision plan options for all benefit-eligible employees. Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to review your coverage and make changes, whether that’s updating your medical or dental plan, adding or removing dependents (medical only), or choosing cash-in-lieu if you have other medical coverage.

If you are adding or deleting dependents for your medical coverage, please have supporting documents ready. Supporting documents for adding dependents to benefits, such as those for a spouse/domestic partner or child, can include marriage certificate, declaration of domestic partnership, birth certificates or court orders that establish legal guardianship or financial responsibility.

Vision coverage:

All benefit-eligible employees are automatically enrolled in at least individual coverage and MDUSD pays the full cost whether you elect individual, two-party, or family coverage.
Open enrollment is not available for vision coverage, except if you are a new hire or adding dependents due to a qualified family status change.

 Other options available:

Cash-in-lieu: If you have medical coverage outside of MDUSD, you may be eligible for a cash-in-lieu benefit by waiving MDUSD medical coverage and providing proof of other coverage.

Please complete the online Open Enrollment form, even if you are not making any changes for the 2026 calendar year.
