Transfer Information

Mt. Diablo Unified School District provides school options for all students, K-12.  Our schools offer various programs and services that may be the best fit for your child.  We encourage parents / guardians to fully research the school options available, starting with the school of residence.   For more information about individual schools, please click on the link below. 

MDUSD - Our Schools

School transfer options are described below. MDUSD will attempt to accommodate all requests for school transfer, based on program and classroom space availability.

ONLY ONE TRANSFER APPLICATION WILL BE PROCESSED PER STUDENT PER ACADEMIC YEAR

INTRADISTRICT TRANSFERS

Applications for grades 1-12 and Sequoia/Monte Gardens Kindergarten will be available from October 10 - November 10 
Kindergarten Applications for all other sites will be available from February 10 - March 10 

Intradistrict transfers are for students who reside inside the MDUSD boundaries requesting to transfer to another MDUSD school.

Intradistrict Transfer information

Parent/guardian may only apply for one transfer per student during a school year. If parents/guardians applied for an Intradistrict Transfer (a transfer within MDUSD), then a subsequent Interdistrict transfer (a transfer between MDUSD and another school district) will not be accepted.


INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS

MDUSD MAY DENY INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS DUE TO DECLINING ENROLLMENT

2024-2025 Request Period for incoming/outgoing requests: Begins March 15, 2024

Interdistrict Transfer information

Alternative Education

Credit Recovery/Small Necessary High Schools

For students that are at least 16 years old, in 10th grade or higher and need credit recovery or a smaller setting. Please contact your academic Counselor or Administrator to apply or for more information.

Virtual/ Independent Study

Mt. Diablo Unified School District offers virtual learning options through Horizons for grades K-8 and independent study for grades 9-12. Please use the links below for more information on Horizons. Applications for this program are also available on the websites.
