COVID-19 Information
As students and staff return to Mt. Diablo Unified Schools for the 2022/2023 school year, sites will continue to follow the same guidance as in the spring of 2022. As we have throughout the pandemic, Mt. Diablo Unified will continue to follow guidance provided by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) in order to make decisions that support the health and safety of our students, families and staff. As requirements change, we will update our practices and protocols and communicate those changes.
Testing
Testing Kits- At-Home testing kits will be available in school site offices, upon request.
Volunteers/Visitors
MDUSD will again be authorizing the use of volunteers on school campuses. All volunteers must follow the clearance process (including fingerprinting and proof of a TB test) and be approved by HR before being allowed to work with students.
Masking
Masks indoors are highly encouraged for all students, staff and visitors, but will continue to be optional.
Students and staff should not be targeted or harassed in any way for their choice to either wear or not wear a mask. Individual staff members cannot require students or other staff to wear a mask.
Masks are available upon request in the front school office.
Vaccinations
Even though we encourage vaccinations for students and staff, we have not heard of any change with regard to the vaccine requirements for students and staff. At this time, the California Department of Public Health has shared that they still anticipate a vaccine mandate going into place in the future. We will send an update if and when we get any additional information regarding vaccine mandates.
